Decorated Bookshelf

A while ago, I shared how I refinished an old, worn bookcase,  I even showed the finished bookshelf, but I realized I haven’t shared pictures of it in the space, completely decorated.  So, here it is.

The top before refinishing was shabby, and not very chic.

The sanding, staining and polyurethane fixed that problem.

It took a lot of time, but it was definitely worth the effort to revamp this passed down bookshelf.  I really love how it looks in the room, too.

P.S.  If you like the Alphabet Tree painting in the photos above, you can get a printed version for yourself.

  2. I love that you have so many Dr. Seuss books. What is in the shadow box frame on top of the bookshelf? Are those tiny origami cranes?

    • Hi Felicity,

Dr. Seuss books are necessary classics! I think I enjoy them more than the boys do. :-) Those are tiny oragami cranes. I’ll share more about that sometime soon. It’s my crazyness…

    • Hi TZ and Christie,

Thanks so much for your sweet comments! I actually painted the alphabet print, but I do sell 8 by 10 inch prints and you can custommize them by adding initials to the branches. If you are interested in purchasing one, please e mail me at ourhumbleabowed@gmail.com

      Thanks!!

  6. Thanks Amanda! I’m planning an owl themed 1st birthday for my daughter, so I’ve been on the lookout for ideas for decorations. Urban Outfitters has tons of cute owl stuff! I’ll be heading over there soon! :)
